Who guarantees the constitutional rights of an atheist?
Since the Declaration of independence says our rights come from God, and atheists do not believe in God, who guarantees their rights? What authority then does the constitution derive its powers from-most notably the Bill of Rights? If these rights are not guaranteed by God then who guarantees them to atheists?
Atheists always seem to wrongly interpret the existence of a God as religious, when in reality it’s just the concept of a greater natural force, much bigger and stronger than the State. The State does not grant rights to the people…it’s the forces of nature that created all life that grants these rights.

There is no mention of god in the Constitution. It is a secular document.

Well the Declaration of Independence is not a legal document.
The constitution is a part of a social contract between citizens and the government of the united states. Your rights are essentially protected by the courts.
Don’t get all hung up on god’s role in this. The constitution (and the bill of rights) are institutions created by man.

I just think people get hung up on the little things way too much…So the dollar bill says in god we trust. Does you really care that much that it says that? It dosnt make it any more or less valuble. Thats what the nation was founded on get over it.

The Declaration of Independence never mentions god. It says "creator." Even then, it says that inalienable rights are endowed by it.
The US Constitution guarantees our constitutional rights. God is not in the Constitution, either, neither the original nor in any of the Amendments.
We are a nation of laws. They affect everyone here.

The first Amendment gives you the freedom of speech, religion and press. With religion you have the right to believe but not always the right to practice. Under this amendment there is a Free exercise clause. This clause says that the government can not interfere in what you believe in unless it passed strict scrutiny standard. Which says the government has to have a compelling interest and if it does then they have to use the less intrusive means possible to fix there interest. But under this clause it also protects citizens right to believe or practice whatever they chose and protects the rights of the non believer.
So since the Constitution is a secular document your rights would come from the Constitution.
