How long do I have to cash a horse racing ticket at the track?
I placed a bet early today and have not had a moment to cash it in. How long are the tote tickets good for before they go void.
In the US, the answer depends on state rules. It may be good for one year (very common), or for some other period. Certainly a tote ticket that is a few days old will be good. If you happen to have an uncashed ticket after the end of a race meet or you cannot travel to the track, make a copy of the ticket and mail the original to the mutuel office of the meet (the track office address is on their website if they have one). They will promptly mail a check to you.
